Back about 100 years ago, when I was a kid in the 60s, my parents had a litter bag in our car.\u00a0 They taught us not to litter.\u00a0 We cared about the environment.\u00a0 Back then caring about the environment made sense, the steps we took to protect it had reasons that were self-explanatory.\u00a0 People shouldn’t be trashing the countryside or tossing cigarette butts out the car window to burn down forests.\u00a0 We has slogans, too.\u00a0 Don’t be a litterbug.\u00a0 Only you can prevent forest fires.\u00a0 Perfectly logical.<\/p>\n
Nowadays we’re expected to be “green,” whatever that means.\u00a0 I take it to mean I should post in green, so I do.\u00a0 It makes as much sense as anything else the libs require from us.\u00a0 Outlawing freon to protect the ozone over Antarctica.\u00a0 Yeah, sure.\u00a0 I don’t mind posting in green, but I do mind light bulbs being banned.\u00a0 Yeah, I know, they weren’t explicitly banned, but a law was written in such a way that they’re no longer on the shelves.\u00a0 Well, they are on shelves, but in people’s attics instead of in the stores.\u00a0 What scares me is that people take it seriously, and you know more craziness is coming and people will take whatever is next seriously, as well.<\/p>\n
