{"id":82,"date":"2012-03-17T00:38:40","date_gmt":"2012-03-17T00:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clw54.com\/blog\/wordpress\/?p=82"},"modified":"2012-03-17T18:55:14","modified_gmt":"2012-03-17T18:55:14","slug":"voters-are-stupid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.clw54.com\/blog\/wordpress\/?p=82","title":{"rendered":"Voters are stupid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0312\/73947.html\">Voters are stupid<\/a>.\u00a0 Well, yeah.\u00a0 A candidate promises to lower the oceans and people vote for him.\u00a0 Are the oceans any lower?\u00a0 When the tide goes out, sure.\u00a0 Wouldn&#8217;t surprise me a bit if BHO pointed to that and said, &#8220;See?&#8221; and people voted for him again.\u00a0 The article covers people thinking he&#8217;s a Muslim, which doesn&#8217;t make them stupid.\u00a0 It just means they think he&#8217;s a Muslim, and there isn&#8217;t any evidence to the contrary, just claims.\u00a0 Claims do not equate to evidence.<\/p>\n<p>But my favorite is that people think the president can affect &#8220;the day-to-day price of fuel in a global market.&#8221;\u00a0 No, people aren&#8217;t saying he can affect the day-to-day price of fuel.\u00a0 But we do think his policies will affect prices over the long run.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2012\/03\/obama-democrats-block-keystone.php\">Prevent pipelines<\/a> and totally botch <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/brazil-stiffs-obama-oil-deal-exposing-presidents-incompetence-181200200.html\">Brazilian oil deals<\/a>, and the prices will be higher than if we had a pro-gasoline president.\u00a0 We don&#8217;t, so the price is through the roof in an election year.\u00a0 Way to go, BHO.\u00a0 You own this one.<\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s this Democrat party pollster up to?\u00a0 It&#8217;s a familiar narrative.\u00a0 When a Democrat party president can&#8217;t deliver, it&#8217;s because it&#8217;s not possible to deliver.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/newsweek\/2010\/11\/13\/is-the-presidency-too-big-a-job.html\">job&#8217;s too big for one man<\/a>.\u00a0 Too big for Obama, apparently.\u00a0 The too big for one man narrative appeared in 2010, less than two years into his presidency.\u00a0 It&#8217;s interesting he didn&#8217;t admit this while campaigning.\u00a0 Instead he used the standard Democrat party arrogance of thinking the current Republican president either couldn&#8217;t do things, or just hadn&#8217;t bothered to do them.\u00a0 A Democrat party candidate thinks he can accomplish anything just through the force of his personality.\u00a0 In BHO&#8217;s case, he could give speeches and the mountains would move.\u00a0 Or the oceans would lower.<\/p>\n<p>So what do we have now?\u00a0 A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/33141209\/ns\/politics-white_house\/t\/obama-failed-olympics-bid-worthwhile\/\">failed olympic bid.<\/a>\u00a0 And he gave a speech, too.\u00a0 Not so easy, is it, Mr. President.\u00a0 There was the Cairo speech, and now they&#8217;re burning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2012\/03\/more-hope-and-change-afghans-torch-obama-effigy\/\">effigies<\/a> of the guy in Afghanistan.\u00a0 Maybe they don&#8217;t have TV there.\u00a0 Green energy?\u00a0 He could feed a lot of poor for the money he poured into those boondoggles.\u00a0 And is Gitmo closed yet?\u00a0 I&#8217;ve already mentioned the gas prices, which you all experience at the pump.<\/p>\n<div>So yes, a competent president can lower gas prices if he makes sure we have enough oil and refineries to supply the population.\u00a0 Thinking that doesn&#8217;t make a voter stupid, it just means he or she will make a better choice next time and not be hoodwinked by speeches enhanced by reverb and phony Styrofoam Greek columns.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Voters are stupid.\u00a0 Well, yeah.\u00a0 A candidate promises to lower the oceans and people vote for him.\u00a0 Are the oceans any lower?\u00a0 When the tide goes out, sure.\u00a0 Wouldn&#8217;t surprise me a bit if BHO pointed to that and said, &hellip;
